Both his parents were dead before 1850.

She married in White Co, IN, James L Goodwin, b about 1839, Mifflin Co, PA; d 1902, Mifflin Co, PA.
James L Goodwin was the son of JOHN W GOODWIN, who died in Perote, Mexico on 5 Aug 1847.
A Bible that was presented to James by "The ladies of Lewistown, PA" was found on the Battlefield in Mexico. A letter from Surgeon Reynolds of the 1st Pennsylvania Regiment, dated 28 Sept 1847, states that Charles Starks, Robert Cargill, John W Goodwin, Samuel Montgomery and David Bogle - all soldiers of Mifflin Co, PA, died from disease, incident to the climate.
James L Goodwin served in the Civil War in the 149th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.
He was discharged from "the Squirrel Hunter's" in Adams Co, OH on 4 Mar 1863.
Orpah and James lived in Mifflin Co, PA and had the following issue:
