Melvin William 'Bill' Phillips, 77, passed away May 2, 2003 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Bill was born in Springville on December 9, 1925, to William J and Florence Simkins Phillips. Bill married Mary Jane Reece in 1950. He is survived by his wife and son: James Jefferie and two daughters Lizabeth, and Allison. Services held May 7, 2003 with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary.
