Rensselaer, Indiana

Age 62, of Rensselaer, IN passed away May 5, 2010 at Progressive Hospital, Merrillville, Indiana. She was born March 26, 1948 in Jasper County, the daughter of Lorraine (Raske) Drake and the late Clarence Drake.
She was a lifetime resident of Jasper County. Walker was a care giver for the elder for many families in Jasper County. She previously was a custodian at St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN. She was a member of the Gifford Church of God and the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church o f God.
On May 28, 1964, in Fair Oaks, Indiana she
married William "Bill" LaCosse, Jr. who survives. Other survivors include her mother, Lorraine Drake of Fair Oaks, IN; three children, Lorrie LaCosse, Kimmie (Jimmy) LaCosse Armstrong, and Karrie (Donald) Irvine Rud all of Rensselaer, IN; grandchildren, Felicia LaCosse, Brittany LaCosse, Sheena Armstrong, Colton Johnson, Kyndra Armstrong, Travis Irvine and Austin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kaden Armstrong, Madison and Kaylynn Luttrell, Keegan DesForges, Conner Allbritten, and Kent Greer, Jr.; four sisters, Jean Bushman of Fair Oaks, Dolly Drake of Indianapolis, IN, Ruth "Sis" Froedge of Rensselaer, IN and Evelyn Ball of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving is Jackie Hickey Midgett of Rensselaer, IN, whom was raised in the home, and her children, Danielle, Ashley, Troy and Josh Midgett.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence; siblings, Delbert Drake, Sonny "Clarence" Drake, Karen Drake Denton, Rita Drake Keaton and Billy Drake, and one grandson, Trevor Johnson.
Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel with Gary Menard officiating.
