"List of Union Soldiers Buried at Cassville, MO"

This list of approx 250 soldiers included Private Jefferson V Cooper. Most were casualties of Battle of Pea Ridge ,Arkansas Mar 6-8, 1862 who succumbed to their wounds. Others died of disease with measles and typhoid being the primary causes.

Of those 250, over 150 headboards, having been inscribed in pencil, were no longer legible. Others were only partially legible.

Abt 1867, all were exhumed and moved to Springfield National Cemetery with the majority interred as unknowns.
