Mrs. Mattie E. Montgomery, White Salmon, Washington, died July 5, 1972 there after an extended illness. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 11, 1972 at 2 p.m. in the Baptist Church, Cheyenne. Rev. Lloyd Martin and Rev. Milton Gage officiated. Burial was in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son in charge of services.
Mrs. Montgomery was born July 24, 1884, was married to George W. Montgomery in 1903 in Denton County, Texas and came to Roger Mills County where they resided until 1945 and moved to White Salem, Washington in 1945. She was a member of the Seventh-day Advent Church.
Survivors are 11 children; five daughters, Mrs. Mary H. Arnett, White Salom, Washington; Mrs. Luella Lantz, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Maybelle Newell, Underwood, Washington, Evelyn White, Winston, Oregon, Mattie Willings, Stevenson, Washington; six sons, Hugh, of Strong City, Horace and Lonnie of Milwaukee, Oregon, Lee of White Salmon, Washington, Charlie of Walla Walla, Washington; James, of Draine, Oregon; and 30 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Beaver, Hemmit, California; Mrs. Jewel Laws and Pauline Laney, both of Seymour, Texas.
Pallbearers were Billy Stauber, Claude Hubbard, Georgie Wright, Jack Lucas, Pete Lucas, Joe Follis.
