Mr. Hendrix died Friday, April 30, in a Temple nursing home.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1922, to James Wesley and Dicie Ellen Cravens Hendrix in Manila, Ark. He had lived in this area since 1954. He retired from the U.S. Army and later worked as a store manager for 7-Eleven. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses of Copperas Cove. He was preceded in death by his wife, Altha Adell in 2005.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Edwin Hendrix of Austin, Oral Wayne Hendrix of Oxford, Conn., and Zander Neal Hendrix of Shallowater; a daughter, Deborah Ann Townsend of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday at the funeral home.
