Mabel June (Eldridge) Shuler, 57, Elwood, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 following an extended illness.
Mabel was born Jan. 19, 1953 in Harlan, Ky., to the late Floyd and Lola (Creech) Eldridge.
She married Rick Shuler Dec. 26, 1973.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rick Shuler; two children, Matthew Shuler and wife Trisha of Elwood and Rachel Hickey and husband Brian of Elwood; eight siblings, Lillie Agler, Ruby Iten and husband Ray, Mary Sanson and husband Jim, Sue Jones and husband Carl, all of Columbus, Ohio; Gladys McSorley and husband Chuck of Sebring, Fla., Skip Eldridge and wife Wanda, and Wilma Eldridge, all of Evarts, Ky., Marie Foley and husband Gary of Elwood.
Survivors also include one aunt, Mary Alice Cloud of Harlan, Ky., three grandchildren, Sydney Hickey, Brice Shuler, and future baby Shuler; and several nieces and nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lola Eldridge, one sister, Hazel Mae Scott and two brothers, James Earl Eldridge and Milburn Henry Eldridge.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 with Rev. Jim Sharber officiating. Interment will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood.
