Myrtle Johnson
Myrtle Gladys Huseby Johnson, 83, of Pelican Rapids died Thursday, Feb. 9, 1995, at Lake Region Hospital of Fergus Falls.
She was born Aug. 13, 1911, at Norwegian Grove Twp. rural Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Bernard and Amine (Peterson) Huseby. She was raised and educated in Norwegian Grove Twp. She was baptized and confirmed at Pelican Valley Lutheran Church of Pelican Rapids.
On Oct. 22, 1935 she married Bernoff Johnson at Pelican Rapids. The couple settled in rural Pelican Rapids where they farmed until 1967 when they moved into town. At that time she became employed at West Central Turkeys until retirement.
Before her health became a diability, she was active in gardening, quilting and her circle at Trinity Lutheran Church. She had been a resident of the Pelican Valley Health Care Center of Pelican Rapids since 1987.
Prededing her in death were her parents; her husband, Bernoff in March of 1968; a brother, Harry; a sister, Ella; one niece; one nephew; and two great grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcy (Larry) Scully and Lyla (David) Williamschen all of Fergus Falls; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several foster great grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Art) Mostue and Hilda Peterson all of Pelican Rapids.
Visitation: Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church
Service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church of Pelican Rapids
