Samuel served in several Companies during the Civil War, including Mississippi's 1st (Patton's Infantry,) Halfacre's Company.He also fought in the 2nd Seminole War in 1836. He enlisted in Campellsville, Tenessee. Samuel was killed in The Battle of Vicksburg during the Civil War. He was actually killed and buried at Vicksburg. The government granted us a marker to be placed next to his wife in Webster Cemetery.
