She was married to Albert C. Hammond of Dolson township, Clark county, Illinois, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1931. To this union were born six children, five sons, Alanson, Roy C., Luther and Lawrence of Martinsveill; Lafe, of Gary, Ind.; and one daughter, Mrs. Cecile Swain, also of Gary, Ind.; all surviving. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Of these, 9 grandsons are serving in the armed forces of our country.
On June 2, 1918, she united with the Baptist church at Martinsville, remaining a faithful member until her death.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 4th, 15 2:00 o'clock from the Martinsville Baptist church with Rev. H. J. Schwendemann officiating assisted by Rev. R. B. Brown. The body was laid to rest beside her husband in the Bean cemetery near Cleone, Illinois.
The family wish to thank the ministers, singers, pall beareres, flower girls, also all the friends who sent the beautiful flowers; and to all others who assisted in any way during the death of our mother.
