My Dad and my uncles -- and all of our family -- always knew Grandma as Margaret Elsie. In her younger days she went by Maggie and after she married my grandfather, Vernon, she used the name Elsie. She also said she was born in Crawford Co. Kansas. In doing family research (since 1967) I found through correspondence with a relative, (some 34 years later) she was baptized as Gesha Margaret Tiedeman, and that she wasn't born in Crawford Co. Kansas.
She and her first husband were divorced. They had 5 children: Evelyn Dodenhoff Ede, Clara Dodenhoff Morrison and Etta Dodenhoff Sielert, and two unnamed boys who died.
