In loving memory of Benedetta D'Ambrosio

My dear Mother passed away just 4 days short of her 93rd birthday. She was the most loving, gentle and kindhearted person anyone could ever know and never had an unkind word to say about anybody. Mom didn't have a mean bone in her body. Her beautiful smile was infectious. Her personality was so bubbly, her friends nicknamed her Betty Boop. Mom has an impressive Betty Boop collection. She loved to dance so much that my Dad referred to her as 'My Wife, the Jitterbug'. My parents had 5 children, all boys. So, between us and my Father, Mom unselfishly took care of 6 men. She made sure our clothes were clean and our bellies were fed. I can remember Mom going to bed hungry just so we didn't. Mom was born and raised in Harlem, NY. Times were tough but with hard work, her Family endured the rough times. I lived with my Mom all of my 57 years. She and I were extrememly close and rarely apart from each other. Although my Mom was very active, she leaned on me and needed me more after my Father died in 1984. I became Mom's caregiver during her elder years along with my wife, Rose, who lived with Mom for 24 years. I love you Mom.
