Mrs. Harold G. Babcock Dies at 71;
Rites Monday Wife of Harold G. Babcock, Mrs. Margaret L. Babcock, 71, died at 6:45 a.m. today at her home at 1320 Old Creek Ave., following an illness of six months. Born Sept. 22, 1914, in Huntington County, she was a daughter of Delmer G. and Lillian Craig Allen. Her marriage to Mr. Babcock took place May 5, 1934, at Mt. Etna. Mrs. Babcock, a resident of Wells County since December 1979, retired in 1979 from the Huntington Herald-Press, where she was employed eight years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star, both of Warren, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and Bluffton Garden Club. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Bluffton. In addition to the husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Norman (Emmalee) Wade of Fort Wayne; two sons, Dr. James L. Babcock and Dr. George K. Babcock, both of Bluffton and physicians at Caylor-Nickel Medical Center; a brother, George C. Allen of rural Huntington and eight grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and after 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Rev. Donald Crellin and Rev. Charles Gast will officiate and burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Preferred are memorials to Caylor-Nickel Home Care or to a charity of the donor's choice. (Thanks to David Huffman for OBIT)
