Obituary published in The Ludowici News, Thurs, Jan 9, 1986. Mrs. Ellen Cecil Wheeler, 87, died Wednesday, January 1, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Liberty County and lived the past two years in Savannah. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Hinesville. She is survived by a son, Fred O. Wheeler of Statesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Stewart of Ludowici, Mrs. Kathleen Wilson of Brunswick, and Mrs. Virginia Zorn of Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtie Phillips of Winter Park, FL; and Mrs. Iva Barks of Apopka, FL; a brother, Nat Gordon of Allenhurst; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were Saturday, January 4, at Carter Funeral Home, burial in Elim Cemetery near Ludowici.
