Owen Wells Bachman Mason Age 89; died July 18, 2009; born September 27, 1919 in Webberville, Michigan. He has been a resident of Mason since 1961.
Mr. Bachman and D. J. Goff were co-owners of Spartan Asphalt Paving Company which they started in 1954 and eventually lead to Spartan Trucking, Spartan Aggregate and Spartan Signs.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and did heavy traveling world wide. Preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Bachman (2009); grandson, Bradley Bachman (2006) and sister, Ruth Townsend (2007). Surviving are his wife, Arlene; sons, Owen J. "Bud" (Debra) of Holt and Gerald of Stockbridge; step-daughters, Jaye (Mark) Clark of Holt and Andrea Goldblum of Columbus, Ohio; step-son, Chuck Goldblum of Huntington Beach, California; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Witt of Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 12:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the chapel.
