Born May 19, 1948 in Martinsburg, he is the son of Robert Gano Criswell,of Martinsburg, and the late Eleanor Lee Lloyd Criswell.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War.
Doug loved hunting and riding his motorcycle with friends and was a member of the 50 Yard Line Bowling League.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of eleven years, Loretta R. Pulse Criswell; a son, Robert Steven Criswell and wife, Misty, of Martinsburg; a daughter, Alison Lynn Lewis and husband, Bryan,of Martinsburg; five grandchildren, Lindsay Marie Criswell, Syndey Noel Criswell, Bryson Andrew Lewis, Alix Bryan Lewis and Ashlynn Faith Lewis; two brothers, Carroll E. Criswell and James K. Criswell, both of Martinsburg.
