Howard L. "Monk" White, 83, Mackinaw, died at 4:25 a.m. Monday (May 3, 2010) at Hopedale Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1926 in Lilly to Oren and Alta McClister White. He married Dorothy Merriman on Oct. 5, 1947 in Mackinaw. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Robert (Susan) White, Mackinaw; one daughter, Janet (Donald) Jordan, Riverview, Florida; seven grandchildren, Mary, Katrina, Heather, Valerie, Nicholas, Kasey and Amanda; seven great-grandchildren, Brendan, Justin, Kayla, Josh, Cheyenne, Nala and Gretchen; one brother, James, Morton and three sisters, Marilyn (Wally) Unsicker, Mackinaw; Hazel (Bill) Ellis, Boise, Idaho and Elnora White, Redding, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Oren White Jr.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.
