John Howard Haxton, raised on a farm in rural Indiana, as a young man decided to enroll in an at home study in the emerging industry of aeronautical engineering.

At the young age of 17 he began his studies, by the age of 19 he had designed and built his own airplane in the barn of the family home in Blackhawk, Indiana.

John later went on to manage an airport on the outskirts of Terre Haute, In. called Paul Cox Field. During the war he worked for Pratt Whitney at Dayton, Ohio.

After the war, John was interested in the forthcoming television industry. He once again studied and taught himself Television repair and appliance repair.

He moved to Tampa, Florida and operated a shop for television & appliance repair. In the late 60's he purchased land near Inverness, Florida to semi retire, where he still operated a small business up until his death in 1974 from cancer.
