Mary L. Cooney, 92, Springfield, Mo., passed away at 6 a.m. Monday, September 6, 1999, in Primrose Place. Mrs. Cooney was born May 27, 1907 in Galloway, MO to John Thomas and Mary L. Davis Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Joseph Michael Cooney. She is survived by a son, and his wife, Chester and Sue Brumley; a daughter and her husband, Mary “Sally” and Raymond Robertson; a sister, Stella Stapp, all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Virginia Dale Thompson, Springfield, Bobi Carlson, McKinney, Texas, Cathy McGill, Blue Ridge, Texas, and Regi Smith, Plano, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Saundra Thompson, Marc Thompson, Austin Monk, Casey Smith, Charley Ann McGill and Brendan Smith; and a niece, Marita Nash.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen A. Schneider celebrant. Burial will be in Springfield National Cemetery under the care of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 East Walnut. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home with Rosary services at 7 p.m.
