OBITUARY: Robert Edward Taylor
The graveside service for Robert Edward Taylor will be at 1 pm Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Veterans for Veterans of Grants Pass will officiate. Mr. Taylor, 76, of Eagle Point, died Friday September 8, 2000 at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Seminole, Okla., a son of Robert and Ada Taylor. On June 16, 1945, in Supulpa, Okla., he married Rosie B. Williams, who survives. Mr. Taylor was a cattle rancher for Cal-West Land and Cattle Company, retiring in 1993. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Lompoc, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion in Paso Robles, Calif. He enjoyed hunting, rodeos, the outdoors and animals. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Ricky Edward, Calif., Billy Ray, Kan., and Ronald Dale, Calif., a daughter, R. Roberta Adams and husband Jerry, Eagle Point, two brothers Marvin, of Louisiana, Carl Arthur, of California, one sister, Margie Banks, Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, and five great-granchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ada Jane Taylor, two sisters, Julie Willing and Juanita Smith, and three brothers, Thornton Leroy, Troy Lee and Melvin Gene. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.
