Claude W. Caison, who had lived here almost all of his life, died in Collingsworth General Hospital at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 5, after an illness of about five weeks. He was 68 years of age and was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mickey Fugitt, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kelso-McCoy Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Barney Glenn, John Forbis, Louis Allred, Jimmy Cochran, Bob Barton and Jake Leach.

Mr. Caison was born at Wellington on June 10, 1909, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Caison. He attended the county schools.

He was married here to Miss Annie Bell Long. They made their home at Wellington except for three years at Hereford from 1943 to 1946.

An enthusiastic sportsman, Mr. Caison was especially interested in fishing and hunting, and since he had retired from farming, he and Mrs. Caison divided their time between Wellington and Port Aransas, where he spent as much time as he wished at fishing. He also took an active part in that town's life, just as he did here.

Surviving Mr. Caison are his wife, Mrs. Annie Caison; three sons, Charles of Waka, C.W. Caison, Jr., of Irving; and David Caison of Wellington; a daughter, Mrs. Margie Jones of Irving; one brother, G.D. Caison of Hereford; three sisters, Mrs. Don Manzer and Mrs. W.C. Stansel of Dumas, and Mrs. Wayland Smith of Hereford; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
