Mrs. Blanche A. Lockey
Mrs. Blanche A. Lockey, 88, of 517 Ironwood Dr., died at 1 pm Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of four years. She was born in Buchanan on July 23, 1877. She had lived in South Bend for 57 years, coming from Baroda, Mich. She was married to George Lockey on July 12, 1896, in Buchanan.* He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie VanderWerven, of South Bend; two sons, John of Buchanan and Paul of South Bend; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bert Kelsey, of Buchanan. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday in the Hollis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday. Wilmer A. Ballou, pastor of the River Park Church of Christ, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
