Her Sunset Hills estate is now the Marion Koogler McNay Art Museum, the first museum of modern art in the Southwest. It was designed by noted architect Atlee B. Ayres

After Don McNay's death in the 1918 influenza pandemic, she married banker Charles Newton Phillips, ophthalmologist Donald Taylor Atkinson, artist Victor Higgins, and art dealer Adelbert E. Quest. These unions ended in divorce.
