In the late 1880's, Mansel his wife, his widowed mother, Mary (his father died c1860 "Absalom Wood"), his brothers Absalom, Robert and William D. and his sister and her husband, William & Permelia Medlock, moved to the Cullman Morgan County border area, from GA.
In 1900 they are living in Morgan County, Alabama. It is stated that they have been married 40 years and have had 5 children, all living.
Mansel and Martha's Children are: Andrew C., James W., Elvana (Elmeratis), Mary F., and Henry M. Wood.
