Virgie Hawkins married S.F. McSpadden on 4 December 1898 at the Hawkins Chapel building.

After his death, Ginny McSpadden married the widowed Thomas Harman after 1944 at Chillicothe, Texas.

Jennie and Thomas Harman came to Loving, Texas in 1947 from Acme, Texas.

Funeral held at Loving Methodist church officiated by Harold Barnett. Mrs. Harman died following an illness. She was a longtime member of the Methodist church.

Survivors: husband; daughters - Mrs. G.W. Reece of Morgan, Mrs. Nadine Bower of Munford, AL; one son - Benton Hawkins McSpadden of San Antonio; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-sons - C.F. Harman of Loving, Gene Harman of Graham; two step-daughters - Mrs. Eula Porter of El Paso, mrs. Lou Lavy of Abilene.
