Staples-Gregory H. Reese, 60, Staples, died Monday at St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo.
He was born May 9, 1930, in Greenbush. He graduated from Greenbush High School and received a degree in vocational education at Bemidji State University. He served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corps during the Korean War.
He married Frances Novacek January 26, 1952, in Greenbush. He worked road construction and highway contracting with his family until moving to Staples in 1966. He worked at Staples Technical College as an instructor until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the VFW.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gregory of Crookston, John of Staples and Paul of Dilworth; five daughters, Mrs. Larry (Michelle) Kern of Greenbush, Mrs. Gordy (Janelle) Thompson of Staples, Mrs. Dennis (Lynelle) Hanson of Staples, Mrs. Joseph (Carmelle) Debbins of Houghton, Mich., and Mrs. Rich (Gizelle) Lentz of Greenbush; his mother, LouVicia Reese of Greenbush; two brothers, Hector Reese of Greenbush, and Chinny Reese of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Doris) Kranz of Fargo, and Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Sovde of Greenbush; and 29 grandchildren.
His father, one brother and one sister died earlier.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Staples with Father Lauren Germann and Father Dick McGuire officiating. Graveside services will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Cemetary in Greenbush. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
