Georgia Freeman Shomo, 95, a former resident of Weaver, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2010, at the Wallace B. Murphy Nursing Facility in Grafton, West Virginia.

She was born September 28, 1914, in the little mining town of Weaver, the daughter of the late Greenberry Compton and Sophia May Lohr Freeman. On January 26, 1938, she married William Hansel "Hank" Shomo who preceded her in death.

She was survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

She was peceded in death by four sisters, Edith Montgomery, Nina Row, Macel Scott, and infant Delma Freeman; two brothers, Kenneth Freeman and Bernard "Johnny" Freeman; one half brother, Arlie Freeman.

Mrs. Freeman attended the schools in Barbour County and was a homemaker all her life. In 1950, she attended a revival service in Weaver where she was born again and lived a devouted Christian life until the Lord called her home.

Services were held at the Talbott Funeral Home by the Reverend Ralph Summerfield. Interment is at K of P Cemetery near Junior, West Virginia.
