MRS. CATHERINE CAROTHERS
Mrs. Catherine Carothers, 70, died Saturday morning at her home near Irwin following a stroke suffered a week previous. Mrs. Carothers was a lifelong resident of Irwin and was the widow of William F. Carothers past superintendent of the Westmoreland Coal Company. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin. She is survived by three sons, Attorney Carroll Carothers, Bayard Carothers, both of Irwin; John Carothers, Dormont; Nine grandchildren, three brothers, John Kenney, Irwin; Daniel of Shiroke, Timothy of Pitcairn and a sister Miss Mary Kenney also survive. Funeral services will be conducted from the Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will follow in the Irwin Catholic Cemetery.
