Chris A. Taylor died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 1993, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville after a long illness.
A maintenance worker at Scott Air Force Base, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was in the Battle of the Bulge, received 3 bronze service stars, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Purple Heart. He was a Catholic and member of the Jerseyville Veteran Foreign Wars Post.
Born in Fieldon, December 4, 1909, he was the son of the late George and Lazetta (Reintges) Taylor.
Surviving are a brother, Phil Taylor of Woodriver; and three nephews, Douglas, Phillip and Vernard Taylor.
A brother, Fred, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Jacoby Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. William Hembrow will officiate.
Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 will conduct the military graveside rites at Grimes-Neeley Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post.
