Funeral services for Charles Martin Steen, age 73, of Ravenna, TX will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in the chapel of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service in Mulberry Cemetery.
Mr. Steen passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at his home.
Charles Steen was born February 26, 1937 in Leachville, AR to parents Leonard Alexander and Bertha Jane Steen.
Charles was involved in many businesses and some of those include operating an apple orchard, he owned Steen Ford in Bonham, TX and owned Steen Insurance at the time of his retirement in 1999. Later in life Mr. Steen had a farm and ranch operation and was well known for his pumpkins and watermelons.
Mr. Steen is survived by his spouse, Janis Blackburn of Ravenna, TX, children, Dawna Uselton and husband Steve of Temple, TX, Dan Steen and wife Dawn of Ravenna, TX, Jim Steen and wife Robin of San Diego, CA and Charlie Diers and husband Brian of Kyle, TX, sister, Cora Dean of Missouri, grandchildren, Peter Uselton, Matthew Uselton, Christopher Steen, Austin Steen, Travis Simerek, Michael Steen, Casey Steen, Jaxson Jones and Carter Jones, and granddaughter Jessie Steen.
Mr. Steen was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roy, James, Elbert and Jay.
The family will receive friends at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 6-8:00 PM.
