Mrs. T.J. PLOWMAN.
Hannah Catherin Strunk born in Mifflin county, Penn., April 29, 1836. She was married to J.T. Plowman at the same place August 4th, 1853. To them were born nine children, eight of whom survive her. Deceased came to Kansas in 1871 settling in Miami county, Kansas. She remained there 3 years and they cam to Melvern where she has lived since. Her husband J.T. Plowman, passed away in March, 1914. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Allison a the age of 87 years.
There survive her five daughters, and three sons; forty grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She united with the Baptist church in a early day and remained so ever since.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Rev. J.R. Wood officiating, and interment made in the Melvern cemetery.

Chas. Plowman and his sister, Mrs. Reben, of Iowa, came Tuesday for their mother's funeral.

Hannah Strunk's parents were Henry Strunk and Mary (Gould) Strunk. Hannah was the tenth of twelve children born to these parents. Most of them lived their entire lives in Pennsylvania, except for the youngest son Samuel Strunk (1841 - 1932). He came to Burlingame, KS for a time before locating in Hessdale, Wabaunesee Co., KS where he lived the remainder of his life.
