Accoring to police reports, he was traveling on Interstate 4 in Orlando, FL, at a high rate of speed when his 1987 Chevrolet Corvette crashed into a guard rail. He was a former cornerback in the National Football League who played in Super Bowl XXIII (1989). He was involved in a number of legal issues including sexual battery and extortion in Seminole County, FL, and Lexington, KY. He was a member of Malone Memorial Church of God in Christ. He was survived by his parents, Wadie L. and Lewis K. Billups, Sr; a brother, Terry M. Lewis; three sisters; and an extended family of relatives. He was a resident of Central Florida since 1986.
