George Emory Baker, a pioneer of the Canfield district where he had resided for more than seventy years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louis Blank, near Hessel.

He was the husband of Mrs. Maggie Baker who died 18 years ago and is laid to rest in the Bloomfield cemetery. Since the death of his wife he had resided with his daughters.

He owned a large ranch near Hessel which is operated by one of his sons.

Surviving are his children: Mrs. Amy Blank, Petaluma; Mrs. George Steinbeck, Roblar; Mrs. Eva A. Blank, Hessel; Joseph A. Baker and Lester Baker, of Sebastopol.

Born in Oregon, he was aged 78 years, and arrived here when a child with his parents.
