THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 29, 2009: “Jodie Ann Griffin, 66, left this earth Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Cemetery. The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday. She was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Paris, a daughter of James Jodie and Bertha Thomas McNeal. She attended Paris schools and graduated in 1960. She married Larry Lee Griffin in August of 1961. He preceded her in death in 1984. She worked in the medical field for most of her career and retired from PCA in October of 2007 after her illness disabled her to continue. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blossom. She was active in parent-teacher organizations at the Blossom Elementary School, holding several offices in the 1970s. She spent her last 12 months living with her son and daughter-in-law in Powderly. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Jodie McNeal Jr. She is survived by three children, the Rev. Larry Don Griffin of Ada, Okla., Jeffrey Lee Griffin and wife, Lynn, of Powderly, Shanna Griffin Wicks and husband, Garry, of California; grandchildren, Jeffrey Griffin and wife, Kristen, of Minnesota, Jeremy Griffin and wife, Trish, of Sulpher, Okla., Justin Griffin and wife, Bethann, of Davis, Okla., Kayleigh and Connor Griffin of Paris, Corbin Waldroup and Hyleigh Wicks of California, Seth Griffin of Ada, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Braxden and Ryan Griffin, Mason Griffin, Domanick Bailey; brother; Elmer ‘Butch’ McNeal and wife, Kay; nephew, James McNeal and wife, Johnna; niece, Deborah Naron and husband, Danny. Serving as pallbearers will be Jef Griffin, Jeremy Griffin, Justin Griffin, Connor Griffin, James McNeal and Chris White. The family would like to thank Millennium Home Health and Premiere Hospice for all their special care given to Jodie in her time of need.
