MOULTON -- Funeral for Mary George Grant Roberson Stewart King, 74, of Moulton was to be today at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating.
Burial was to be in Elmwood Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. King died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at her daughter's home in Gadsden. She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Marbury. She was a graduate of Marbury High School, where she was on the basketball team and was a member of the Beta Club. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Garden Club. Mrs. King was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. After the death of her first husband, Charles Robinson, she returned to college to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde King; three sons, Bill Roberson of Birmingham, Gary Roberson of Woodstock, Ga., and George Roberson of Collierville, Tenn.; two daughters, Virginia Ingram of Gadsden and Sharon Rorex of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; three sisters, Louise Scott of Pinson, Frances Meek of Prattville and Ann Wadsworth of Alexander City; one stepson, Wesley King of Greenville, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Angela King of Arlington, Texas, and Carol King Palmer of Haleyville; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five step grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Ross Roberson, Jason Rorex, Matt Roberson, Ryan Roberson, Keith Scott, Joel Meek and Grant Wadsworth.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
