He was the son of James Lloyd Abbot, "III" (V), and Cynthia Lee Abbot, and was survived also by his wife and one son and his grandfather, Rear Admiral J.L. Abbot "Jr" (IV).

Samuel Lloyd Abbot, 31, of Finksburg in Carroll County, died unexpectedly Dec. 23 at his home.

Mr. Abbot was born Dec. 4, 1974, in Baltimore, the son of Cynthia Lee (Cotta Abbot) and James Lloyd Abbot III of Annapolis. He worked for First Class Moving Co. in Finksburg.

His hobbies were fishing, crabbing, boating, drag racing, cooking and supporting the Baltimore Ravens.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Marsha Lynn Abbot; one son, Resten James Abbot of Finksburg; one brother, Donald James Abbot of Florence, S.C. and one sister, Deborah Lee Theuerl of Anthem, Ariz., and his grandparents, Margaret Pratt Abbot and James Lloyd Abbot Jr. of Mobile, Ala. He was the grandson of the late Ralph William and Lucille Marion Cotta.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. Burial will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
