MIDWAY, Wasatch County--Mrs. Mary Ann Orgill Johnson, 75, widow of Nels J. Johnson, died in a Salt Lake hospital Friday at 4 a.m. after a month-long illness. She was born January 9, 1877, at Mr. Pleasant, Sanpete County, a daughter of Mark and Rachel Smith Orgill. Shen she was eight years of age, the family moved to Wasatch County. She had resided in Midway for 49 years. She was married March 22, 1900, to Mr. Johnson at Daniel, Wasatch County. The marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mr. Johnson died May 22, 1950. Survivors include three sons, George W. and Ralph J. Johnson, Midway and Ronald M. Johnson, Heber; five daughter, Mrs. Ellis J. (Merne) Edwards and Mrs. W. W. (Elizabeth) Newby, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Mead (Lucille) Whiting, Springville; Mrs. William (Mildred) Larsen, Midway; and Mrs. Clifford J. (Loretta) Sherwood, Bountiful; 26 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Joseph Orgill, Layton; James Orgill, Mrs. Minnie McGuire, Mrs. Ethel Webb and Mrs. Dora Webb, Daniel; Mrs. Emma Gordon, Bellflower, California; Mrs. Bessie Gordon and Mrs. Arabell Moulton, Victor, Idaho and Mrs. Maude Massey, Vernal. Mrs. Johnson was a lifetime member of the LDS Church, serving particularly in the Relief Society. She was president of Midway First Ward Relief Society. She was president of Midway First Ward Relief Society for nine years. She also was a member of Dsughters of Utah Pioneers. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Midway First LDS Ward Chapel by Irvin Bowden, Bishop. Friends may call at the home of a son, George W. Johnson, in Midway Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Heber Cemetery.
