John Calvin Osgood:
Son of Dea. William and Almira (Dibbell) Osgood.
He served in the military from Vermont in the Civil War.
He married Miss Mary G. Flanders, July 15, 1868, and has one son living [1889], Ernest Erle Osgood, who became a clergyman, and is bur. VA.

He was an ordained Freewill Baptist clergyman. "He became a Christian when about nineteen years of age. He received his preparatory education at New Hampton Institution, and graduated from the Theological School in 1868. He was licensed by the Strafford Quarterly Meeting, while a student, and was ordained at Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H., in the fall of 1868, by Rev's E.P. Ladd, A.D. Smith, J.M. Durgin, and others. He was pastor at Gilmanton Iron Works, Natick, Mass, Contoocook and Pittsfield, N.H., South Strafford, VT, Springvale, ME, and is now (1887) pastor of the church at South Berwick, ME. He has had success and conversions in his pastorates, and has baptized about sixty converts.
