He was born on September 29, 1913, in Akin, IL, the son of Marion and Cora Minton Lee. He married Isabel McAlpin on August 8, 1934, and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2006. Also preceding him in death are a brother Paul Lee; 2 infant brothers; 3 sisters, Minnie Holloway, Rosa Corn and Lura Taylor; and 1 infant sister.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (husband, Bruce) Ream of Highlands Ranch, CO; 3 grandchildren, Tamara O'Rear of Chester, VT, Julie Maynard (husband, Kevin) of Arvada, CO and Todd Ream (wife, Lauri) of Denver, CO; 4 great grandsons; and 1 great granddaughter.
Mr. Lee was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church West, past president of the Businessman's Club of Alexander and the Sawdust Club, and a former member of Franklin Lion's Club. He was a manager and partner of Crawford and Calhoun Labor Company in Alexander, IL for 33 years.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel, with Rev. Vince Rohn officiating.
