Savannah Morning News, Sun 4 Jan 1953 - Thomas W. Berry, Sr.

Funeral services for Thomas W. Berry, Sr., who died yesterday morning at his residence, 2214 East Fortieth street, will be held tomorrow at 2 pm at the Irvine Henderson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. James H. Wilson, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, and the Rev. George Clary, Savannah district superintendent of the Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be G.M. Helmken, F.I. Barry, C.W. Hartis, Charles Lilley, Clifford Lebey, and Robert Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be C.C. Hopkins, P.B. Myrick, J.J. Miller, J.A. Meyers, C.C. Llangston, B.C. Freeman, Perley Scott, W. Hugh Finch, D.D. DeLoach and Clarence E. Sauers, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Berry; one son, Thomas W. Berry, Jr., of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, E.C. Berry of Savannah and L.G. Berry of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. E.H. Hallman of Savannah and Mrs. L.E. Ogletree of Birmingham, Ala.; one grandson, Thomas W. Berry III of Charlotte; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Berry retired one year ago after serving with the Savannah Electric and Power Company for 30 years.
