Marie Marcelline Josephine Ruel was the first of 15 children born to my g-g-grandparents Marie Marceline Goulet and Hubert Ruel. She was born on 3 Oct 1872 in Sainte Claire, Dorchester, Québec, Canada and baptized the following day. Marie married Olivier Gagnon, son of Olivier Gagnon and Emilie Jacques, on 4 Mar 1889 at Sainte Germaine du Lac Etchemin, Dorchester. She and Olivier had four children together. A son was born in Canada in 1890, followed by a daughter in 1892. Marie's parents and siblings immigrated to Somersworth, Strafford, New Hampshire about 1893, and Marie and her husband presumably immigrated about the same time. Their third offspring was born in New Hampshire in 1895. The fourth child, a daughter, was born in New Hampshire in December of 1896 and Marie died the following month, in January of 1897, in Somersworth. She is interred in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth. Her widowed husband Olivier remarried in 1908 in Canada. He died and was buried in Canada in 1924.
