Our beloved Daddy,Grandpa and the most devoted of husbands has returned to his Father In Heaven to continue his work there on September 22, 1993 in Holladay, Utah. Born January 16, 1910 in Salt Lake City to LeGrand M. and Florence Phillips Robbins, Married Anna Bernice Larsen in the Salt Lake Temple August 16, 1933. He grew up on the Avenues, Graduating from LDS High where he was active in all sports. He had a dance band "The Venetians". He was one of Utahs first Eagle Scouts and began working in the electrical field at 12 years of age with his father and brothers. Was noted for being the inventor of the forerunner to todays runway lights at the old Salt Lake airport. He was a Master Electrician and a practicing Professional Electrical Engineer. Served as local president and National vice president of the National Electrical Contractors Association. Served in the Seabees during World Warll in the South Pacific and was in charge of all electrical on Mare Island. Long time member of Kiwanis Club and Knife and Fork Club. A loyal civic and government supporter all his life. Music was an outsanding talent, singing with the Tabernacle Choir for 20 years, the Swanee Singers and Jay Welch Chorale. His piano playing delighted all who heard it. Most of all, the love of his life was Bernice,his precious wife and constant companion for sixty years. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities as an obedient and stalwart servant and leader. Sons of the Utah Pioneers was paramount in his life and he did much to further it's cause serving as president in several chapters and national president to over see the building of their new National Headquarters building. This great man will be deeply missed by his many friends and large family.
Survived by his wife, children, Suznnne Kennedy (Edwin J.), Patricia Havey, Michael p. Robbins (Susan), Cherie Brown (James f.),Peter L, Robbins (Sheryl), 20 Grandchildren, 37 Great-grand-children, one sister Florence R. Leonard. The Family would like to express thanks to all those who showed love and support during his fight with leukemia. Funeral services Monday, September 27, 1993 at 2 p.m. at the Holladay South Stake Center, 4917 So. Viewmont St. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Mackay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Soth Highland Drive and one and one-half hours prior to services at the church.
