Syracuse Journal Wed 28 Jul 1886 "I would like to say in self-defense that I never built, or rebuilt, or ever caused to be builded, a saloon. Why I am disgraced by having it put in the papers in this way, I cannot understand. I am a Christian woman, bound to uphold what is right, and do all in the power to suppress evil.
