Article from the "Record" of Paxton, Illinois dated 10 Feb 1916 (Thursday):
Mr. and Mr B. F. Higdon went to Roberts Saturday, where they were called on account of the illness of Mrs. Lulu Higdon ot Britt, Iowa. Mrs. Higdon was taken ill a week ago Sunday with appendicitis and died last Sunday morning. The body was taken to Britt on Tuesday, where the funeral and interment took place. Mrs. Higdon, nee Lulu VanSchoyck, was raised in this vicinity and was married to William Higdon. She leaves a brother, Edward Van Schoyck, of Roberts, and Miss Myrtle Harper of Waterloo, Ia.
