Civil War Veteran Confederate 8th TX Inf.

Here is what I found:'
1880 W. W. Marlar, age 33 Eastland Co TX with wife M. J. age 30 and son J.W.
1900 WW in Brewster, Marathan, b 1843, TX widow,
1910 William H in Eddy Co (Carlsbad) age 67, wd, son James W age 31 b. TX (His is probably an error)
1920 James W age 40 b TX and wfie Annie age 30, TX. in Eddy Co.
W W is not found in 1920 or 30. He is listed in the Carlsbad Chronology as dying in 1931. His son James was still there I guess and reported it.
I found a Martha Marla, 1850-1888 in Vanderpool, Bandera Co. TX at the cemetery. Could be his wife since Bandera is straight east of Brewster. Doesn't prove much though. I did not find their marriage record anyplace. Didn't find him on ancestry or worldconnect. He didn't apply for a TX pension. May have to write both mortuaries, but I would almost bet the Deming burial is a mistake, unless there is a stone there.
Also he is on the NMDI: W W Marlar, DOD 5-20-1931, Hidalgo Co. age 88 6 mo.
Janelle
Civil War Veteran Confederate 8th TX Inf. Application for a military stone gives birthdate, military unit, and place to ship headstone was Lordsburg, NM. to Mountain View Cemetery. JW Marlar applied for the stone. WW Marlar had a daughter Elizabeth Marlar ALLEN and is buried nexdt to WW at Mountain View Cemetery. She only lived about 2 years after her father passed away.
