"WALTER "WALLY" PLUGGE. -- Walter 'Wally' Plugge, 51, died in his home Thursday, November 6, 1997. Services were Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Mr. Plugge was born May 24, 1946 at Blair to Walter F. and Dorothy (Utermann) Plugge.
He attended the Arlington Public Schools, graduating in 1964. He served in the Fremont National Guard.
On April 13, 1968, he married Joyce Scheer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He farmed in rural Blair and worked for Gnuse Manufacturing in Arlington. He was a Sunday School teacher, PTL president, church usher, Thursday Night Basketball Commissioner for over 18 years, president of March School District No. 31 at Arlington and was a member of the Washington County Cattleman's Association.
Survivors are his wife, Joyce; sons and daughter-in-law, Neil and Christine Plugge, Red Oak, Iowa and Nate Plugge of Blair; daughter Kristen Plugge, Blair, two grandchildren, Tyler Plugge and Jacob Plugge; his mother, Dorothy Plugge, Blair; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Lee and Lloyd Petersen, Blair; Anita and Red Misfeldt, Arlington and Dorothy Ann and Larry Gaeth, Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. Plugge and an infant son, Kyle Lee. Memorials may be given to the family or to the donor's choice. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in charge."
