John D. Anderson served as a Wagoner in the Supply Company, 314th Field Artillery, 80th Infantry Division, United States Army during World War I.

He was a son of John Dickson Anderson and Marietta Louise (Fishill) Anderson.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 29, 1918 at New Kensington, Pennsylvania.

He served overseas from May 26, 1918 to May 28, 1919.

He received his discharge from the Army on June 7, 1919 at Camp Lee, Virginia.

He was originally from Linwood, New York.
