On Thursday, April 29, 2010, Carolyn Kay McGraw of Cross Lanes, was home, surrounded by her husband and children, when her spirit passed on peacefully.
Carolyn was born on December 17, 1936, to the late Donald and Ruby Paige Kidd. She was a member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church. When Carolyn was healthy, she was very active in church activities as well as the Women's Clubs in Dunbar, Bluefield and Morgantown. All who knew her loved her dearly. Her legendary sense of humor and her beautiful smile will be forever missed. She lived her life with a class, grace and courage few have matched.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Ron McGraw; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn McGraw and Rodney Engle of St. Albans; daughter, Teresa Williams of Cross Lanes; son, Scott McGraw of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Rachel Williams and Jeffery Williams, both of Cross Lanes; and sister, Sherrill Rankin of Dunbar. She is also survived by a host of aunts, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, May 3, at Dunbar United Methodist Church, Humphreys building, on Grosscup Avenue in Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
A private graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Cedar Grove.
The family would like to thank the staff at HospiceCare for their help and loving care.
