SUNSET BEACH, NC -- Orba Kenneth Mintz, of Ocean Highway, Sunset Beach, NC, Grissettown Community died Friday, January 23, 2009.

Born in Brunswick County on March 9, 1921, he was a son of the late Hubert and Martha Elizabeth Hewett Mintz. He was a retired dredge boat leverman. Mr. Orba was a member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Aleph Somersett Mintz.

Survivors include a son Kimsey Mintz and wife Paulette of Clinton, NC; grandchildren, Brian Mintz and wife Keila Mintz of Idaho, Pam Lloyd, David Lloyd, Debbie Ljungholm, Jacqueline Vaughn; two great grandchildren, Kimsie & Bryce Mintz; a niece, Sandra Pigott and husband Harry of Shallotte; a nephew, William Schubert and wife Jan of Vero Beach, FL and

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 28, 2009, in the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service by The Reverend Landis Lancaster. Entombment will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
