Mrs. Ruth C. Roudabush, 92, died Sunday July 18, 2004, at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, IA.
Funeral services for Ruth Roudabush were held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 22, 2004, at the Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn. Rev. David Rogula officiated and the musician was Angie Radcliffe. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dayton and Mr. and Mrs. David Seaton. Casket-bearers were Mike Roudabush, Greg Roudabush, Scott Roudabush, Brian Roudabush, Connie Byers, Calvin Roudabush, Kirk Roudabush, Eric Roudabush, Jason Roudabush, Chris Roudabush, and Todd Roudabush. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.
Nevenhoven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Calista Dayton Roudabush was born January 25, 1912, in Brooklyn, IA. Her parents were Clark Dayton and Mabel Korns Dayton.
Ruth received her education in Brooklyn graduating from high school in 1929. On January 25, 1930, she was married to John Elver Roudabush in the home of her parents. They were the parents of four sons, Dean, Roger, Loren, and Lyle. They farmed north of Brooklyn for many years. Mr. Roudabush died March 3, 1986 and In 1989 Ruth moved into Brooklyn.
Mrs. Roudabush was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, UMW, Columbian Club, Gleeful Workers, and Farm Bureau and sang in a ladies quartet.
Her parents, her husband, two brothers, Freeman Dayton and Ray Dayton; one sister, Irene Audus; and a great grandson, Logan Roudabush preceded her in death.
Surviving are her four sons and their wives, Dean and Mary Jane Roudabush of Columbus, Ohio, Roger and Nancy Roudabush of Brooklyn, Loren and Carol Roudabush of Brooklyn, and Lyle and Carolyn Roudabush of Grinnell; eleven grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren.
